Why else would a Virginian find himself in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Barcelona, Madrid, Marrakech, Dublin, or Paris? The people, of course.

A Boy And His Blog (About Me)

Jackson:
I'm Jackson Breyer, a 21-year-old Virginian (US) who's studying abroad in London. I'm an English major, which is somewhat ironic given my current locale. If you're reading this, you probably already know all that.

His Blog:
It was late in a pub the other night, somewhere near Bloomsbury, that I was having a disorderly--though quite passionate--discussion with a British Princeton-grad. He had been a philosophy major back in the states, and so obviously the subject of conversation lapsed onto inherent the nature of man. After an intense discussion, we concluded that in order to maintain any sanity, we had to assume that man was inherently good. Hence the title of this blog.

That really gets to the heart of why I travel, too. I love experiencing other cultures, and seeing how they look at the world. Given the assumption that mankind is good, it follows that all cultures (derivatives of man) are inherently founded on good principles, and thus worth exploring. Boom.

I Still Haven't Explained Why I'm Writing a Blog:
Oh, right. It's for a class. I'm getting a grade on it. Also it's so my friends/family/random-people-on-the-internet can know what I've been up to.
